In the dynamic world of equestrian sport, striving for excellence is a constant challenge for breeders and owners. Over the past 365 days, a select group of sires have proven themselves to be true breeding legends, producing sport mares at the very highest level.
This analysis is based on the Hippomundo ranking of approved breeding stallions, according to the performance of their offspring in International competitions. Only stallions with at least 25 daughters at 1.55m level or higher were included for this selection. We classified them according to the placing percentage of these daughters.
Kannan
Kannan had 32 daughters jumping at the very highest level over the past 365 days, with a placement rate of 34.6%. The most successful is the Selle Français mare Toupie de la Roque, she collected €766,410 in prize money with her Belgian rider Pieter Devos in recent months. She scores in the Hippomundo Ratings* HR 120. Overall, that is good for 5th place in the Hippomundo Ratings ranking of mares. Toupie de la Roque is the 4th generation of 1.60m jumping mares, with progenitors such as Nabab de Rêve (Walloon de Muze) and Chin Chin (Qerly Chin). Another top mare by Kannan is GL Events Dorai d'Aiguilly, although again out of a genetically strong 1.60-mare: Bijou Orai (by Toulon). Because that is also the dam of the well-known breeding stallion Eldorado van de Zeshoek. GL Events Dorai d'Aiguilly scores under the saddle of French rider Olivier Perreau in the Hippomundo Ratings HR 92.
Diamant de Semilly
Diamant de Semilly has 39 daughters jumping at +1.55m level with a placing percentage of 33.8%. The SF mare Blood Diamond du Pont has been most successful under the saddle of Julien Anquetin (FRA) over the past 365 days. This mare was bred in France by Matthieu Le Connetable and scores HR 97.
Chacco Blue
How could it be otherwise that the world-famous Chacco Blue also has a share in the top of the sport mares. He signs for the paternity of 44 mares in the top sport (+1.55m) achieving a placement percentage of 33.2%. Aralyn Blue by Slovenian breeder Franjo Udovc is the most successful Chacco Blue daughter at the moment with a HR 118 score under the saddle of British rider Harry Charles.
