For its stallion of the month feature, Hippomundo takes a look at the Hanoverian stallion HH Messenger.
HH Messenger, the direct damline of Stakkato
HH Messenger was born in 2007 at Bruna De Paolis's stud farm. He is the offspring of Montender and Barbie Girl Del Chirone (by Baloubet du Rouet). The first offspring of his dam, he has two siblings who are also blacktypes: Aventador del Chirone (by Acorado II), Joske (by Tailormade Diarado's Boy). Her maternal grandmother produced For Hero de Hus (by For Pleasure) and Bolero de la Vie Z (by Berlin), both blacktypes. His third dam is the dam of the renowned stallion Stakkato (by Spartan).
Competed up to CSI5* level
Ridden at age 6 by german Florian Meyer zu Hartum, HH Messenger competed under several riders before crossing paths with Philip Rüping and then Quentin Judge, who took the stallion up to CSI5* level. Among his performances, we can highlight his 2nd place in the CSI4* Grand Prix in Wiesbaden (GER) in 2017, his 3rd place in a 1.55m class at the CSI5* in Calgary (CAN) in 2018, and his victories in 1.50m classes at the CSI3* in Oldenburg (GER) in 2017 and Redefin (GER) in 2015 and 2016. He ended his career in 2020 with an HLR of 107.
A young production that is making waves
As we mentioned in last week's article on the stallions with the most graded offspring (read article), HH Messenger is making headlines thanks to his young offspring.
Approved in the studbooks: FWB, Hann, Meckl, Old, OS, Rhein, S-ZV, Westf, his first offspring were born in 2012. Today, he ranks between 50th and 60th in the stallion rankings based on his offspring's earnings. His actual best representative is Mava S (aged 10), who competed in her first 1.60m Grand Prix this year, finishing second in the CSI4* Grand Prix in Hohenkirchen (GER) under German rider Jens Wawrauschek. HH Messenger also has four approved sons: Meganus PS, Mesulot PS, Mr. Cento Chacco PS and Message Blue PS. Among them, Mesulot PS already has two offspring that are already blacktypes.
A production that sells well at auction.
As a father, 79 HH Messenger products known by Hippomundo have been auctioned off. The vast majority of these are 3- and 4-year-old products with a median value of €40,000. The two biggest records for his products are: Messtender PS: €245,000 in 2023 at 7 years old and My Carlope PS: €180,000 in June 2025 at 5 years old.
