Hippomundo has developed a system that awards points based on international results of all five-, six- and seven-year-old horses. Different young horse classes are divided into groups ( group classification) and horses are awarded points based on their results ( point system). As we have just passed the half-way mark of 2021, we will take the following couple of weeks to take a look at some of the most successful young horses of the year so far. Today, we will discuss the most successful six-year-olds.
The leading six-year-old so far this year is Belle Vue 7. The daughter of Rahmannhof's Baluga out of a mare by Levistano was bred in Germany by Harry Hube. With Argentinian rider Ezequiel Andres Ferro Menendez in the saddle, the mare competed in the six-year-old classes in Oliva and Vejer de la Frontera at the start of the year, but was particularly successful in Prague and Poznan in June.
Second most successful six-year-old this year so far is Celebrity-H. The Zangersheide-mare was born as Celebrity from Second Life Z as a breeding product of Thierry Hendrikx. She is a daughter of Comme Il Faut out of a mare by VDL Groep No Limit. So far this year, the mare has won six six-year-old classes under the saddle of German rider Tobias Meyer.
The BWP gelding Prevano DL completes the podium. The son of Thunder vd Zuuthoeve out of a mother by Toulon was bred in Belgium by Danny Loos. Colombian rider Dayro Arroyave has been riding the gelding to regular placings in the six-year-old classes in Oliva and several other international shows in Belgium.
Fourth is the daughter of Chap II, Criminal Love. Greek rider Aggelos Touloupis rode the mare to nine victories in international young horse classes since the start of the year.
Westphalian gelding Emil 160 completes the top five. The son of El Salvador out of 1.60m-mare Aluta, by Aloube Z, was bred in Germany by ZG Puschak. Wolfgang Puschak rides his own homebred to regular placings in the classes for six-year-olds including three wins at the show in Lamprechtshausen.
Krack GLN, Castella di Luna, Très Bien Z, Pirelli C and Aequitus vh Bergerhof Z complete the top ten.
