Hippomundo provides multiple rankings comparing riders, breeders, horses, countries and more based on several different variables. One of our own rankings classes young horses of five, six, and seven years old by the points they have received by their performances in international classes. Points are rewarded to young horses depending on the level of difficulty of the class and the result of their performance.
We are halfway into 2022 which seems like a good time to reflect back on the first six months of the year. Today, we take a look at the leading five, six and seven-year-old horses of the year so far.
Five-year-olds
The leading five-year-old of 2022 so far is the Holsteiner stallion Lovboy Del Rilate. The son of SIEC Livello out of a dam by Campesino was bred in Denmark by Egon Jessen. Under the saddle of Italian rider Simone Paciotti, the stallion has jumped 11 clears out of 12 rounds in international five-year-old classes in Italy. Lovboy del Rilate is currently in ownership of Allevamento Rilate.
Izzabella currently places second in this ranking. The Baden-Württemberger mare is a daughter of I'm Special de Muze out of a mare by Clarimo ASK, out of the damline of Michael Duffy's RMF Charly. Under the saddle of Czech rider Kamil Papousek, she has placed in 12 out of 15 international rounds she has jumped. Izzabella was bred in Germany by Michael Waimer.
The Danish Warmblood CC Chiva completes the podium so far. The daughter of Cantolar originates from the damline of approved stallion Diamant de Revel, as well as multiple 1.60m jumpers in the likes of Christian Shou's Akido, Stine Cassøe's Conchillo and Maria Hjorth Frederiksen's Duble. Under the saddle of Sebastien Kapel, the mare has 15 placings out of 21 starts on her record at the moment. CC Chiva was bred in Germany by Carsten Carstensen.

Six-year-olds
The leading six-year-old halfway into the year is Quadir de Roulard. This stallion is a son of Exploit de Roulard out of a mare by VDL Corland, who is also the dam to 1.60m jumper Karel VDB. Under the saddle of Romanian rider Andrea Herck, the stallion has 17 international placings to his name this year alone. Quadir de Roulard was bred in Belgium by BVBA Molirent.
The KWPN stallion Lipton currently takes up the second spot in this ranking. He is a son of VDL Glasgow vh Merelsnest out of a mare by Arezzo VDL. This damline has already produced a number of 1.60m horses including Jerry Smit's Constantijn, Mario and Lisa Deslauriers' Obelix R and Jurgen Stenfert's BMC Okometa. The French rider Jules Orsolini has ridden the stallion to 12 international wins so far this year. Lipton was bred in the Netherlands by Henk van Rouwendaal.
Hannibal Style VK Z completes the top three of best six-year-old horses so far. He is a son of Heineken VK VDL out of a mother by Calvino Z, who is from the direct damline of Daniel Bluman's 1.60m mare Gemma W and further along the line produced top performers in the likes of Van Dutch, Dino W and Ratina Z. Hannibal Style VK Z was bred by and still in ownership of by Stoeterij van Kleef and is currently being campaigned in the sport by Doron Kuipers. The pair won the last three international classes they competed in two weeks ago in Ebreichsdorf.

Seven-year-olds
Still the leading seven-year-old of 2022 is HSH Harper du Seigneur. The Irish Sport Horse was bred in Ireland by Hadley Sport Horses and is being produced by home rider Sven Hadley. The pair have won 12 international classes so far this year. HSH Harper du Seigneur is a son of Aganix du Seigneur out of a mare by Chippison, from a damline that produced 1.60m jumper BMH Big Time.
Following in second place is Falkira De Mormoulins. The Selle Francais mare has been placed in 20 of the 28 international classes she has jumped so far this year under the saddle of French rider Jeremy Le Roy. She is a daughter of Cornet Obolensky out of a mother by Tlaloc la Silla from a damline that has produced several good performers including Shane Sweetnam's 1.60m jumper Birdy du Thot. Falkira De Mormoulins was bred in France by Ludovic Taugourdeau.
Sjl Fizzy Tart completes the podium of most successful seven-year-olds so far this year. The British-bred daughter of Locarno 62 out of a dam by Malito de Reve comes from the same damline as James Davenport's 1.60m horse One Way, as well Jennifer Meylan's Opportune de Bloye further down the line. Under the saddle of British rider Ellen Whitaker, Fizzy Tart has been placed in 21 classes of the 27 she has competed in so far this year.
