APPROACHING 2024'S MIDPOINT, LETS LOOK AT THE CURRENT RANKINGS LEADERS
Coming up to the midway point of 2024, it’s a good opportunity to take a look at the current leaders in the Hippomundo rankings. With some major jackpots ahead, the show jumping horses leaderboard could well change - for now, King Edward (BWP) (pictured) reigns while his dam Koningen de Lauzelle is the current top-ranked dam of the chief earners. The Selle Français studbook is the first to exceed the €10 million mark amongst the show jumping studbooks; Gestüt Lewitz/Paul Schockemöhle lead the show jumping breeders and its a close race between Diamant de Semilly and Kannan amongst the show jumping sires.
It’s another tight race currently amongst dressage horses with Blue Hors Don Olymbrio and Touchdown at the top of the pack, see here, the KWPN, Quaterback and Jan Lamers currently lead the dressage studbook, dressage sire and breeders rankings.
The results from Luhmühlen, the next of the eventing world’s five-star competitions and which offers a €125,000 prize fund could well have an impact on the eventing rankings by the end of today. Greenacres Special Cavalier, J.W (Woods) Rosbotham and Cavalier Royale (HOLST) are the current leading event horse, breeder and sire although today’s result from Germany won’t affect the Irish Sport Horse studbook’s considerable lead in those rankings
That’s an overview of the current rankings leaders in mid-June; as always, it will be interesting to compare these with the end-of-year rankings.
