With just a few days left until the end of the year, it's time to take stock of 2025. Hippomundo invites you to review the 2025 rankings of stallions that have excelled thanks to their Blacktype production.
Chacco Blue, now and forever
Chambertin's son, Chacco Blue, has dominated this ranking since 2018. With 61.6% of his horses over 8 years old at blacktype level (114/250 horses) in 2025, he leaves no room for his rivals. Among his best representatives of the year are Scott Brash's partner, Hello Chadora Lady (HR 111), with whom he has just won the Top Ten final at the CHI5* in Geneva, and Chacco's Girlstar (HR 121p), who has racked up a string of good performances in the Global Champions Tour and World Cup stages on the Arabian Peninsula with Italian rider Emanuele Camili.
HH Messenger ranks second in this classification, with 60.4% of his offspring over 8 years old achieving blacktype status. We dedicated an article to him earlier this year: see article. With a small production of 378 horses aged 4 and over, 111 of which are over 8 years old, he competes against horses that are much older than him. Remember that Chacco Blue was born in 1998 and HH Messenger in 2007.
Conthargos completes the podium with 57.5% of its products being Blacktype. Born in 2004, the son of Converter has been able to count on strong performances this year from, among others, Pia Contra (HR 112p) with Nicolas Pizzaro (MEX) and Conchado (HR 92) with Argentina's Ignacio Maurin. Interestingly, both horses share the same maternal sire, a certain... Chacco Blue!
Born in 1996, Thunder van de Zuuthoeve ranks fourth in the standings with a 56.1% blacktype rate. Cascadello I follows closely behind in fifth place with 55.4% Blacktype offspring.
